Update - at the marsh at the end of the road I encountered the expected geese and ducks, saw one egret and one blue heron. Took a loop side trail on the way back, with one garter snake and could hear sandhill cranes in the distance. But alas, it's still too early/cool for leps.
And the same absence of butterflies at the Grady Tract of the Arboretum this afternoon. One lonely Pasqueflower - not much else of interest.
Today (Thurs, April 21), after running an errand in Waunakee, I plan to visit the Waunakee Marsh Wildlife Area -

Map at the link. It looks to be a small area (or at least the accessible part is small), so I will be there just briefly, starting about noon.
